Learning guitar chords is the most crucial step for beginners to know the basics of guitar playing. I know that you are dying to play simple yet beautiful songs on your guitar. But to do this, you need to learn at least three to four chords. For strumming strings, your right hand will work and for fingering the fretboard, you need to use your left hand. Playing strings:
You should not make the tunes on the fretboard sound out of tune. For this reason, you should not press the strings too hard and give just enough pressure to have clear sound. Most beginners usually opt not for high-quality standard guitar for affordability problem and therefore, touch result is not possible for them, they have to learn the art of proper string pressing for optimal result.
Use of left wrist:
Dropping your left wrist is the best way to ensure your fingers vertically positioned on your guitar fretboard. This will make your notes sound clear. Dampening effect can occur if you are a beginner and you tend to touch the back of your finger touching next string. You should try and avoid buzzing of strings by positioning your fingers correctly in the desired locations.
Least movement for changing chords:
Very little movement of fingers from one string to the other should be done by correctly changing your chords. With practice, you will be able to have the least possible movement while changing the chords. This is the technique that is mastered by almost all professional guitarists. That’s why they seem to play fast yet effortlessly without much movement.
Close your eyes for practicing with concentration:
For teaching your muscles how to play, you should learn this tricky technique of closing your eyes and play your guitar without watching your hands play it. When you practice this, automatically your hands and fingers will learn respective positions to be taken while playing different chords and get accustomed to those positions. Also work upon simultaneously for improving your strumming and plucking qualities with right hand. This will enhance your guitar effect.
