45 Years in the Limelight of Music as Scorpions Guitarist Band…

Scorpions guitarist band is a hard rock and heavy metal band in Germany best popularized for their 1980 rock anthem album entitled Rock You Like a Hurricane.  They were also famous for their single records like Wind of Change, Still Loving You, Send Me an Angel and No One Like You.  Having sold more than 100 million copies around the world, they reached the 46th place on the list of Greatest Artists by VHI.  Their Rock You Like a Hurricane became number 18 among the Greatest Hard Rock Songs.

The Scorpions guitarist band has been 45 years in the making, but it still continuous to record music and organize musical tours.  In January, 2010, the Scorpions made a public announcement that all the members of the band will finally retire after making a tour to promote their next album entitled Sting in the Tail.  The band is composed of Klaus Meine as lead vocals, Matthias Jabs as lead and rhythm Scorpions guitarist and backing vocals, Rudolf Schenker as backing vocals, rhythm and lead guitarist, Pawel Maciwoda as bassist and backing vocals, and James Kottak on the drum, percussion and back-up vocals.

Matthias Jabs, a German Scorpions guitarist and writer of songs was born in October 1955.  Before he joined the band, he has performed with Deadlock, Fargo and Lady Band.  Jabs decided to join the Scorpions when Ulrich Roth separated from the band in 1978.  His 1st album with the band is entitled Lovedrive.  His amazing ability to strum the guitar made a significant contribution to the band’s signature sound.

In 1980, Jabs owned a ’63-64 Fender Stratocaster named “trouble guitar” that had a Bill Lawrence L90 pick-up and a Floyd Rose floating bridge.  This was shown on a number of tracks that required a “tremolo” and a “Blackout.”  Another German Scorpions guitarist and a co-founder of Scorpions band is Rudolf Schenker who was born in August, 1948.  He is a songwriter of the band and at the same time the lead/rhythm guitarist.

As lead Scorpions guitarist, he has done most of the guitar solos with the band, and there are also times when Rudi renders the solos like in the albums Big City Nights, Through My Eyes, As Soon as the Good Times Roll, Still Loving You, Always Somewhere and Wind of Change.

Pawel Maciwoda is a Polish bass Scorpions guitarist who was born in February, 1967 in Wieliczka, Poland.  He joined the band as bassist in 2003, and had his official membership in January, 2004.  As encouraged by his father, Maciwoda started practicing on his bass guitar at 15 years old.  Because of his young age as a semi-professional performer, he has been given the name “Baby.”

Within a short span of time, he was already going around Europe on a tour along with a jazz fusion band popularly called the Little Egoists.  When he has time, he also performed with the Krakow-based avant-garde rock bands called Pudelsi and Dupa.  Simultaneous with these performances, Scorpions guitarist Maciwoda released his single album named Radio Wieliczka.

In 1954, a promising child was born to be a jazz fusion, smooth jazz guitarist in the person of Peter White guitarist.  White rose to fame with his typical style in playing the guitar as Al Stewart accompaniment.  He also played the piano and accordion, and during his 20-year collaboration with Stewart, he has co-written a lot of songs that included Time Passages which became a Top 10 hit in 1978.

Peter White guitarist played with Basia in a string of hit albums in the 1980s, and in 1990, he recorded his own albums.  In 1996, Basia appeared on the album entitled Caravan of Dreams by White with single vocals on Just Another Day.  His brother, Danny White, was an original member and co-founder of the UK band named Matt Bianco.  Peter White guitarist became the recipient as the Best Smooth Jazz Musician during the Canadian Smooth Jazz Awards in 2007.

For 4 consecutive years from 2000 to 2003, Peter White guitarist was proclaimed the Best Guitarist by the National Smooth Jazz Awards.  He also won 3 Oasis Smooth Jazz Awards that include Best Guitarist Award, Song of the year Award for his single entitled Midnight in Manhattan along with Grover Washington, Jr.  In his interviews, he expressed his deep satisfaction when his old songs are remembered by the public; that means those songs have staying power.

Peter White guitarist also reveals that he loves listening to old songs as proof of their long period of acceptance.  He believes that the radio station likes to play them not because they love the songs, but because public listeners want to hear them all over again, and that thrills him vividly.  Recently, his 1st CD named Good Day has been released under the supervision of Peak Records, his new recording company.

Peter White’s “Good day“ is a great music with remarkable sound distinguished to a superb songwriter and guitarist.  This is what people expect of this famous Peter White guitarist; he always put something unexpected in whatever kind of music he does.  It could be a difficult task for an ordinary musician, but not with Peter White and his group doing a new record entitled Peter White Christmas produced by the Artizen label.

In this album, he plays along with other renowned artists who have name brands such as Mindi Abair, a famous vocalist and sax player, and Rick Braun playing the flugelhorn and trumpet.  This is his 1st release with all original materials since the release of his Confidential in the year 2004.

Peter White guitarist states that in 2006, he made a CD of cover songs.  He claims that it’s his forte of creating cover songs.  These songs are all his favorites; however, many people are more interested to listen in songs that are new and written by him that inspired him to release the same.

The horizon of success is still beaming with Peter White guitarist as a world-famous British acoustic guitar player who has reached the peak of contemporary jazz records sales for many years.

Joe Perry is an original guitarist for Aerosmith together with Tom Hamilton, the bassist, who are co-founders of the band named Jam.  The other members of the band are Steven Tyler on the vocals, Joey Kramer on the drum, and Ray Tabano on the guitar.  The Jam Band was formed in 1970 in Boston, Massachusetts, and its name was changed later to Aerosmith.  It became popular as an American hard rock band, and later known as the Greatest Rock and Roll Band of America.

Another description that was attached to the band was The Bad Boys from Boston.  The band’s music style was originally traced to blues hard rock and soon, elements of rhythm and blues, pop and heavy metal were also incorporated in their style that inspired a lot of succeeding rock artists.  In 1971, guitarist for Aerosmith named Brad Whitford replaced Tabano, and that started the creation of a great number of following for the band in Boston area.

The members of Aerosmith currently are Steven Tyler performing as lead vocals, Brad Whitford on the guitar, Joe Perry as lead guitarist for Aerosmith and backing vocals, Tom Hamilton on the bass, and Joey Kramer as drummer and percussion.  Joe Perry’s full name is Anthony Joseph Perry who was born in Masachusetts in September 10, 1950.  He is a songwriter and song contributor for the band, back-up and lead vocalist at times, and the lead guitarist for Aerosmith.

He was placed in the rank of number 48 in the list of Greatest Guitarists of All Time by the Rolling Stone magazine.  Brad Whitford whose real name is Bradley Ernest Whitford was born in Masachusetts in February, 1952.  He attended Berklee College of Music and soon after its completion, he performed with local bands such as Earth, Inc., Teapot Dome, Justin Thyme and Symbols of Resistance before he joined Aerosmith.  He replaced the original member, Ray Tabano as guitarist for Aerosmith.

The band became one of the most progressive bands in the 1970s, but due to their failure to achieve hit records, guitarist for Aerosmith Whitford separated from the band, and started working on his own project along with Derek St. Holmes whose role was as singer.  They called their duo as St. Holmes/Whitford and stayed in the music arena for a while.  However, following their disappointment to generate big sales for their 1st eponymous record, their project was dissolved and their 1st album became their last.

Guitarist for Aerosmith, Whitford joined the tour to promote the Joe Perry Project with Joe Perry, his former band mate in Aerosmith, and later, they decided to rejoin Aerosmith Band in 1984.  However in 1980, all the members of the band including Whitford, became subject to drug rehabilitation.  Whitford also attended rehab programs for treatment of his heavy alcohol drinking.

Tom Hamilton whose full name is Thomas William Hamilton was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado in December, 1951.  He is the co-writer of 2 hit songs for the band entitled Janie’s Got a Gun and Sweet Emotion.  He is best known as a promising American musician and bass guitarist for Aerosmith.

Steve Gaines the great guitarist was born in 1949 in Miami, OK, a small city (population under 20,000) best known historically as the first town to be incorporated out of the Indian Territory in the 1890s. He reached his teens in the early ’60s with very successful career in guitar playing industry , well into the rock & roll era, but if any of the music caught his ear, it didn’t affect him personally, at least in any way that anyone noticed.
